Key aspects of NFPA 70B include:
Inspection Frequency
Depending on the type of device that is being serviced and the condition of that device will determine that frequency. Also, the frequency of device can change if an inspection fails or if a device condition changes. The Gimba onboarding team will set up all your inspections at the correct frequency level based on the condition of your devices.
Condition Rating
Gimba understands how to determine the correct condition rating based on the given factors and can support determining its condition, and as mentioned adjusting frequencies based on those conditions. Those factors include the actual condition of the device, whether it is new, has it been EOF for a decade, or has the device experienced faults/issues in the past. Another factor is the criticality of the device, is the device supporting essential medical equipment where if it failed people’s lives would be at risk? The final factor is the operating environment, is the device in a “hostile” environment such as a steel mill where the temperatures exceed the recommendations on the device.
